Associate Designer - Temporary

What is my role?

Assists the Designer directly to execute Men’s product. Researches relevant trends, communicates with the cross-functional team and provides support to the Director. Also needs to have a firm understanding of the internal costing process.

What You'll Do

• Works on the core line with the team
• Works on TP’s with the team: b/w, PLM, color ups
  
• Takes on production orders to assist the senior designer
• Supports Director with special retailer projects and collections
• Researches for trend, ideas for the line and projects
• Works on new bodies and development ideas with Director and the team
• Supports the senior designer w/novelty & costume designs
• Is able to pull together a group –collection for retailer and licensor needs with new/older bodies/colors/fabrics---telling a story
• Helps with Strike off comments, filing and updating sheets w/senior designer
• Helps to manage samples as they come in from PD – checks them in, submits comments and updates sheets.
• Helps to size art for samples and production
• Helps put cads together as needed
• Works with Sales , PD, Art team and Merch to get the job done

What You’ll Need

• 1-3 years previous experience designing Men’s apparel.
• 2 or 4 year college degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, Textiles, Fine Art or related field.
• Portfolio Required.
• Strong sense of color, style, and trend.
• Extremely proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Attention to detail and follow-up skills.
• Garment construction & fabric knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
