You have a computer science background, you think in systems rather than in isolated parts, and you want to build an AI environment properly from the ground up instead of just operating one? Then this role is for you.
For a Swiss company in the financial services sector, we are looking for someone to put the build-up of the internal AI infrastructure on a professional footing. Over the past months, the company has already developed its own solutions, including locally hosted LLMs, automated news monitoring, and the automated processing of annual reports. The next step is to get the data model, the architecture, and the security right, and to distil a long list of ideas into sensible first steps.
- Design and implementation of a clean data model for the existing AI environment
- Definition of the technical architecture, including the security concept
- Capturing and sharpening the business objectives together with management
- Prioritising the existing ideas into a realistic roadmap
- Further development of existing automations (LLM-based document processing, news monitoring)
- Close collaboration with the external IT service provider maintaining the existing application
Requirements
- Studies in computer science or a related field (Bachelor or Master, advanced semester)
- Experience in data modelling and in designing system architectures
- Good knowledge of IT security (access concepts, data storage, handling sensitive data)
- Experience working with LLMs and in Linux environments
- Ability to prioritise and to say when something is not realistic within the available time
- Excellent written and spoken English
Optional:
- Basic understanding of business and economic concepts
- Knowledge of JavaScript / Node.js
- German language skills
Benefits
- Start: Beginning of January 2027
- Workload: 80 to 100%
- Duration: approx. 3 months (until the end of Q1 2027)
- Location: Hybrid, 1 to 2 days per week in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley, remaining time in Dübendorf
- Language: Fluent English, German an advantage
