Position Overview Staxmatic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Construction Mechanical Superintendent to lead and coordinate all mechanical operations across large-scale commercial job sites. This is a field leadership role ideal for an experienced mechanical technician or foreman who has progressed into a supervisory capacity. You will be responsible for managing field crews, coordinating daily site activities, driving project schedules, and ensuring all mechanical work is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes, quality standards, and safety requirements. The Mechanical Superintendent is the primary field leader for all mechanical operations on site, working directly with Project Managers, General Contractors, MEP subcontractors, and trade partners to ensure seamless project execution from mobilization through final inspection and closeout. Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $120,000 annually + Project Completion Bonus $2,000/month vehicle allowance Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays based on project needs Pay Frequency: Weekly Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance HSA with $700 annual company match 401(k) with 4% company match Hospital and Identity Theft coverage Voluntary Short-Term Disability, Life, and Accident coverage Company-paid Basic Life, AD&D, and Long-Term Disability insurance Pay Card option and online pay stub access Company-provided PPE, iPhone, and iPad 24/7 office and field support Continuing education and professional development support Key Responsibilities Direct, supervise, and mentor mechanical crews including foremen, journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractors across all phases of commercial construction Manage daily crew assignments, productivity tracking, and workforce scheduling to meet project milestones and deadlines Conduct daily toolbox talks, enforce OSHA safety standards, and maintain all required safety documentation per GC and site requirements Monitor job site quality control for HVAC, piping, ductwork, and equipment installation to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and local mechanical codes Maintain accurate daily field reports, manpower logs, and work progress updates for project management review Oversee all phases of commercial mechanical scope including HVAC systems, hydronic piping, ductwork, air handling units (AHUs), chillers, boilers, VRF systems, and building automation system (BAS) coordination Interpret and apply construction drawings, blueprints, and mechanical specifications for HVAC, piping, and related systems Collaborate with Project Managers, General Contractors, MEP subcontractors, and trade partners to support project schedules, budgets, and milestones Review and coordinate RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings with the project team to resolve field conflicts before they impact schedule Identify and proactively resolve field conflicts, facilitate MEP coordination meetings, and promote teamwork across all trades Coordinate material, tool, prefabrication, and equipment deliveries with vendors, suppliers, and the warehouse team Schedule and support mechanical inspections and TAB (Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing) to ensure compliance with applicable codes and project specifications Track and document field changes, support change order preparation, and communicate scope variances to the project team Manage subcontractors to ensure work is completed on schedule and adequate manpower is maintained QualificationsRequired Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising mechanical work on large-scale commercial construction projects Proven experience managing all phases of commercial mechanical scope including HVAC, piping, ductwork, and equipment installation Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical systems including air handling units, chillers, boilers, VRF systems, and hydronic piping Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and mechanical specifications OSHA 10 certification required Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background check requirements Strong project scheduling, workforce coordination, and deadline management skills Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments   Learn more: www.staxmatic.com
