Job Description :

Job Summary:

• Employee with no patient impact
• FSLA; Exempt
• Job Purpose: Completes, analyzes, audits, and reports data including employee plan financials for strategic benefits planning and evaluation. Provides benefit plan interpretation, guidance and counsel to employees, HRIS representatives, and managers.
• Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System
• Reports to Manger Employee Benefits

Education:

• BS in Human Resources or Business Administration

Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred)

• Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification strongly encouraged

Related Work Experience and Other Skills

• Three to Five years’ experience administering health and welfare benefits
• Experience with ERP system transactions processing
• Held position demonstrating ability to operate with minimal supervision and exercising independent judgment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and etc. Advanced proficiency required working in Excel
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality in all matters and promote teamwork and professionalism in intra/interdepartmental relationships and interactions with internal/external customers

Job Roles

• Serve as Health and Welfare benefit plans expert for associates; researching and resolving coverage issues for associates. Handles escalated unresolved issues rom benefit team representatives- demonstrating professional, tactful, and timely conflict resolution skills promoting professional behaviors, including courteous actions. Listens effectively in an effort to gain understanding before responding to the needs presented.
• Provides training to new benefit staff members for Lawson, ESS, and benefit vendor systems as needed and approved by Manager/Director.
• Audits EDI files bi-weekly and functions as the point of contact for vendors’ Error Reports; working each report to ensure accuracy in both the vendor’s systems and MHS’ HRIS system and works closely with ERP and IT ensure data quality and identifies system, data and procedural problems and escalates as required.
• I charge of bi-weekly system audits ensuring associates and their qualified dependents have appropriate coverages
• Produces and manages reporting metrics and analytics for all benefit plans other that Leave of Absence, Retirement, and Tuition Reimbursement and provides to the Manager for review
• Assists in identifying system, data and procedural problems and escalates as required
• Will serve as the backup presenter for New Hire Orientation and Ben Fund Coordinator
• Assists with benefit testing for Annual Open Enrollment and any automation changes to the HRIS system
• Other duties as assigned
