Work Schedule:Â Â 1st shift

Job ResponsibilitiesÂ
Supervise the day to day operations of the Hematology department Â
Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely mannerÂ
Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department Â
Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverageÂ
Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffedÂ
Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessaryÂ
Engage in continuous process and service level improvements Â
Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality ControlÂ
Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documentsÂ
Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendationsÂ
Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development Â
Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operationsÂ
Ensure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulationsÂ
Responsible for administering and managing policies and proceduresÂ
Process and maintain payroll and personnel filesÂ
Perform administrative duties as neededÂ
Minimum QualificationsÂ
Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical TechnologyÂ
5 years or more of experience as a Technologist/TechnicianÂ
Preferred Qualification:Â
Current or prior Labcorp experienceÂ
Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical TechnologyÂ
1 year or more of previous supervisor/leadership experience
ASCP or AMT certification Â
Additional Job StandardsÂ
Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulationsÂ
Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresÂ
Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft OfficeÂ
Strong communication skills; both written and verbalÂ
High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills Â
Comfortability making decisions in a changing environmentÂ
Ability to handle the physical requirements of the positionÂ
Able to pass a standardized color blindness testÂ
