CNC Machining Apprentice - Aerospace Manufacturing (Multiple Openings)

 

Your Key Responsibilities

Schaeffler Aerospace USA Corp. is seeking CNC Machining Apprentices to join its Connecticut Registered Apprenticeship Program supporting aerospace manufacturing operations. This role combines paid on-the-job learning (OJL) with related technical instruction (RTI) to develop the skills needed for a career in precision machining.

Working alongside experienced manufacturing professionals, apprentices will build the knowledge and hands-on experience required to become a Set-Up Operator/Technician in one of Schaeffler's primary machining functions: Grinding, Turning, or Milling.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured apprenticeship program combining classroom and on-the-job training
  • Complete rotational assignments in Metrology, Inspection, Grinding, Turning, and Milling
  • Learn to read blueprints, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications
  • Operate machinery and equipment under the guidance of qualified mentors
  • Perform precision measurements using gauges and inspection tools
  • Assist with machine setup, tooling changes, and quality verification activities
  • Follow established safety, quality, and production standards
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and continuous development

Your Qualifications

Apprenticeship & Education Requirements

  • This position is part of a Connecticut Registered Apprenticeship Program
  • Mandatory enrollment in and successful completion of the Technology Studies Certificate: Advanced Manufacturing Machine Technology – Option 1 program at CT State Community College, Naugatuck Valley Campus
  • Ongoing participation and satisfactory progress in both on-the-job learning and related technical instruction are conditions of employment
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employment VISA or other sponsorship
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
