4 Month Contract With A Local Authority
To provide effective leadership and overall management of a 51-bed residential care home for older people living with dementia, ensuring the delivery of safe, person-centred, high-quality care. The Registered Care Home Manager will be responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, promoting resident wellbeing, managing resources effectively, and leading a motivated team to achieve excellent outcomes for residents, families, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the care home, ensuring the provision of high-quality care and support for all residents.
- Maintain full compliance with all relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and care standards, including CQC regulations and local authority requirements.
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, dignity, and rights of all residents are protected and promoted at all times.
- Lead, motivate, support, and develop the care home team, including recruitment, performance management, supervision, and training.
- Manage staffing levels to ensure the service is appropriately resourced and operates efficiently.
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and service delivery to ensure person-centred care is consistently provided.
- Manage the home's budget effectively, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining high standards of care.
- Conduct and monitor internal audits, quality assurance processes, and improvement plans.
- Investigate incidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns, and regulatory matters in line with organisational policies.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, commissioners, and external agencies.
- Ensure all records, reports, and documentation are accurate, up to date, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Promote a positive culture of continuous improvement, resident engagement, and excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Registered Care Home Manager, Deputy Manager, or senior leadership professional within a residential care setting.
- Proven experience managing services supporting older people, including those living with dementia.
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations, care standards, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
- Experience managing budgets, resources, and operational performance.
- Demonstrable experience leading, motivating, and developing multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance processes and conducting internal audits.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Commitment to delivering person-centred care and achieving positive outcomes for residents.
- Relevant health and social care qualification (Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or equivalent desirable).

- Working Hours: 37 hours per week
- Working Pattern: 5 days per week, based on-site
