Position: Medical Assistant Non-Certified 

Department: GYN Oncology 

Shift: 8:00AM-4:30PM/ Part-time/ 32 hours a pay period/ 16 hours a week

Facility: Miami Valley South Hospital 

The Medical Assistant works under the direct supervision of the physician and/or provider to perform administrative and clinical tasks. Medical Assistants support doctors and patients related to patient care management, organization and communication. The goal is to ensure efficient operation of the medical office through accurate delivery of high-quality customer service.  They remain flexible and proficient in all aspects of the clinic operation to assist in order entry, registration, scheduling, reporting, phone calls, clerical tasks, clinical tasks, and other related duties. Must demonstrate good teamwork and maintain a professional attitude.



Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion/ GEDHigh School completion / GED

Additional requirements:

Type of degree: formal training in medical assisting or 5 years of relevant work experience 
Preferred educational qualifications: Associates Degree preferred

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time.

  • Ability to work under sometime-stressful condition which may occur in a heavy workload environment.

  •  Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Effective oral and written interpersonal/communication skills for interaction with and/or teaching patients, physicians, other staff and visitors.

  • Good problem solving skills, initiative and judgment to make appropriate decision in potentially life threatening patient situations.

  • Professional appearance and behavior.

  • Physical strength for such activities as moving equipment, (lifting/transporting patients with assistance) to a maximum of 300 lbs.
