Job Description

Shriners Children's Ohio is seeking candidates for a PRN Philanthropy Assistant to join our Philanthropy team.

The Philanthropy Assistant will collaborate with the Philanthropy team in planning and executing special events, donor cultivation events, stewardship programs, and other engagement activities, as well as administrative operations including in-kind donations, donor acknowledgment, and donor database management. The role will support the stewardship of donors and key relationships, build awareness, and increase engagement. This position reports to the Senior Director of Philanthropy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the processing and documentation of charitable contributions, including scanning checks and supporting gift entry procedures.  

  • Help prepare and assemble donor mailings, acknowledgements, and other stewardship communications.  

  • Support the organization and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail related to philanthropic activities. 

  • Maintain accurate records and assist with basic filing and document management as needed.  

  • Provide general administrative assistance to the Philanthropy team to support fundraising operations and initiatives.  

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years of Philanthropy experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • Healthcare fundraising experience

  • Experience with Blackbaud or other CRM systems


Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
