Job DetailsJob Location: East Syracuse - NY 13057Position Type: Per DiemEducation Level: NoneSalary Range: $17.50 - $20.50 HourlyJob Category: Direct Support Professional1:1 Part-Time Support Staff Needed – East Syracuse, NY (DN– AJ)   A 23-year-old man living in the East Syracuse area is looking for a direct support professional to assist him with visiting local stores, participating in at home activities, and providing support with activities of daily living.   This individual is hoping to find a DSP who can accompany him at home, provide support with putting together meals, and have someone to talk to him throughout the day. The individual is non-verbal and will provide cues to his DSP about what it is that they want, which the DSP will pick up on after time spent with him.   This candidate should be caring, patient, and comfortable providing some personal care. The DSP should be able to find ways to interact with the individual, as he prefers to spend most of his time on his phone or watching tv.   This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services. at the agency.   Availability: Mon-Thurs 2:30pm-4:30pm   Starting pay is $17.50/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.   Location: East Syracuse, NY     Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community. Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred. New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required. Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.         Qualifications Must have a valid driver's license  Must be at least 18 years old Effective communication and organizational skills required. Flexibility with assignments and schedule required. Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time. Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
