TREX began with an unexpected opportunity. Our founder, Lowell Hartell, entered the convenience store business in 1988 when he and two partners purchased an old Stuckey’s store—despite knowing very little about the industry. After early financial challenges, Lowell committed himself fully to learning the business, eventually buying out his partners and dedicating his career to building what would become TREX. Through perseverance, optimism, and a passion for growth, he expanded from a single struggling store into a thriving organization.  Trexcon Restaurants is hiring a dependable and hardworking Cook to join our kitchen team. If you take pride in preparing quality food, working with a team, and staying busy in a fast-paced environment, we’d like to meet you.
This position supports daily kitchen operations and may work in one or more stations including meats, vegetables, bakery, and salads.

What You’ll Do
- Prepare menu items quickly and accurately according to recipes and standardsÂ
- Work assigned kitchen stations while maintaining quality and consistencyÂ
- Read and follow menus and production needs before opening each dayÂ
- Keep your work area, walk-ins, and reach-ins clean and organizedÂ
- Monitor food quality, discard items when needed, and communicate issues to managementÂ
- Assist in prep work, setup, and closing duties across all kitchen areas when neededÂ
- Help maintain proper stock levels and organization in the kitchenÂ
- Complete cleaning and operational checklists as assignedÂ
- Communicate with the next shift on prep, setup, and kitchen statusÂ
What We’re Looking For
- Ability to speak and understand conversational EnglishÂ
- Ability to read menus and follow basic measurements and recipesÂ
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchenÂ
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and good attendanceÂ
- Team player who is willing to help wherever needed in the kitchenÂ
- Previous kitchen or cooking experience is helpful but not requiredÂ
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of timeÂ
- Frequent bending, lifting, carrying, and moving throughout the kitchenÂ
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularlyÂ
- Team lift required for anything over 25 lbs or awkward itemsÂ
