A minimum of one-year prior working experience with individuals with developmental disabilities. Must have a thorough understanding of developmental disabilities, mental illness, active treatment, principles of normalization, inclusion, least restrictive environment, choice, integration, self-empowerment, and functional skill development. Must have completed or be willing to complete and pass the Department of Human Services Nurse-Trainer Program. Must demonstrate accurate, efficient skills in medication administration and documentation. Must be able to counsel, advise, teach, resolve conflicts, and direct employees and families.
