Student Worker – General Chemistry 110 Lab Assistant

 

Number of Openings: 1

 

Purpose/Objective of the Role: 

  • The Lab Assistant will provide support for students with accommodation requirements during Lab portions of the class. 

 

Tasks & Responsibilities: 

  • The Lab Assistant will attend labs and assist the student with various tasks, such as pouring and mixing ingredients, using microscopes, describing images, and other necessary tasks to facilitate the student's participation. This position does not require knowledge of class content but relies on strong communication skills to effectively support the student.

 

Qualifications/Skills: 

  • Currently enrolled as a student at OWU.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain professionalism.
  • Sensitivity and understanding of the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Willingness to provide support and assistance in an inclusive and respectful manner.
