Student Worker - Werner Gallery Coordinator 


Purpose/Objective of the Role: 

  • Fine Arts is seeking a student, art major or minor, that is motivated to promote and cultivate student art from OWU studios. This position requires working and communicating with a range of people in the OWU community: students, staff and faculty, as well as maintaining the social media. The work hours are flexible but the position may require availability during weekends. Core responsibilities of the Gallery 

Coordinator position:

  • Assist with installments of the exhibits, (there should be 2-3 exhibits per semester)
  • Promote exhibits and Werner Gallery space to students and OWU community
  • Maintain the inventory of gallery supplies/tools.

Core Responsibilities of managing Collections:

  • Maintain the inventory of works in the Kalb collection, and the departments Instagram account. 

Skills and qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good time management
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge to operate with basic power tools
  • Capacity to lift and move items, (approximately30 -50 pounds weight)
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud platform. 
  • No previous experience necessary
  • Needs to be art major or minor

Tasks & Responsibilities: 

  • Cleaning, moving materials and maintenance

Qualifications: 

  • Prefer art major/minor

  • Understanding the requirements for maintaining an art gallery and art collection
