Coordinates and assists in all activities performed in the vascular laboratory. Operates Ultrasound equipment to perform a variety of vascular imaging procedures as indicated by physician orders and protocols. Maintains quality assurance logs, updates policies and procedures, and maintains requirements as indicated for IAC and ACR accreditations. Attends to direct and indirect patient care needs to ensure successful completion of requested imaging procedures.Â
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of vascular ultrasound proceduresÂ
- Produces clear and undistorted images as indicated per established protocolsÂ
- Identifies and visualizes all necessary anatomy, measurements and correctly labels structures.Â
- Documents patient information, test results and measurements accuratelyÂ
- Recognizes normal and abnormal vascular anatomy and physiology and reports critical values and abnormal findings per established policy and proceduresÂ
- Utilizes 2-Dimensional, M-Mode, color flow and Doppler imaging techniques when indicatedÂ
- Abnormal patient findings are immediately reported to the RadiologistÂ
- Assures correct patient information on requests, reports and PACSÂ
- Monitors equipment and department suppliesÂ
- Organizes work area and maintains suppliesÂ
Qualifications
Education / ExperienceÂ
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.Â
- AA Degree requiredÂ
- Graduate of an accredited program for Ultrasonography requiredÂ
- Active member of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with RVT certification or a registered vascular specialist by CCIÂ
- Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider requiredÂ
- 1-year clinical settingÂ
- Strong proficiency in computer-based programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)Â
- Ability to work well with other team members and consultants in remote offices as well as independentlyÂ
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environmentÂ
