Description As a Construction Claim Consultant, you will perform detailed analysis of construction claims seeking damages resulting from changes, disruption, preparation, and delays to a project.  You will perform schedule analysis, change order review, cost estimating, damages analysis, and report writing.  You will develop claims and expert reports under the direction of the Managing Consultants, with the goal of the new consultant signing reports, providing pre-trial advice to clients and attorneys, and providing deposition and trial testimony during litigation. Essential Functions Works directly with attorneys and clients to foster relationships, understand and perform schedule and cost analysis, and issue resolution; Contract interpretation on scope, notice, schedule, delay, change order, and claim development requirements; Writing professional reports to be reviewed by the Managing Consultant; Other Duties This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Technical Requirements Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in engineering, construction management, or equivalent.  EIT or PE preferred but not required; 5+ years’ construction industry experience, including field work  Outstanding oral and written communication skills and able to interact effectively with technical and non-technical people Proficiency in scheduling and use of scheduling software such as, Primavera P6, Asta, or Microsoft Project manager General knowledge or ability to perform: Time Impact analysis, contemporaneous periodic analysis, and as-planned vs. as-built analysis Weather delay analysis Manpower and resource analysis Acceleration analysis Graphic development knowledge Desire to learn forensic delay analysis   General knowledge or proficiency in Cost Analysis, such as: Ability to analyze cost and labor reports Labor productivity analysis Extended general conditions cost analysis Acceleration and overtime cost analysis Estimate compared to actual cost analysis Change order cost and manhour analysis Work scope analysis Desire to learn forensic cost analysis Construction estimate development and use of estimating software Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and a team player Able to work with finite deadlines and prioritize competing deadlines The ability to work independently, and as a contributor in a group environment Trustworthy, honest, respectful, and flexible Strong work ethic, as well as cultural awareness and sensitivity   Physical Requirements This position is physical in nature and the below are considered essential job functions:  Lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, walking on roofs, entering and working in confined spaces, working outdoors in hot or cold weather, using necessary safety equipment, performing other duties that may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, or squatting for prolonged periods of time Ability to travel without restriction   Work Environment   The functions of this role are conducted in both an office environment as well as in the field.  May also be required to travel for business purposes.
