Our client is a technically advanced organization where experienced engineers develop complex mechanical products and systems from concept through production and field implementation. The Mechanical Engineer will join a collaborative team responsible for solving challenging engineering problems while balancing performance, manufacturability, quality, and cost. This is an opportunity for a seasoned engineer to make meaningful technical contributions across product development, analysis, testing, and manufacturing.
Objective
Provide senior-level Mechanical Engineering expertise to guide the development of practical, reliable, and cost-effective mechanical solutions while supporting technical decisions throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Product Development, Product Design, and Design Engineering activities, including 3D Modeling, detailed drawings, BOMs, design reviews, drawing checks, and model checks.
- Perform advanced Engineering Analysis, including GD&T, FEA, structural analysis, power and torque calculations, gearing analysis, mechanism/dynamics analysis, fatigue/life calculations, and DOE.
- Develop and oversee Test Plan Development, acceptance criteria, test rig and fixture design, functional and longevity testing, test execution, and results analysis.
- Support mechanical manufacturing solutions involving Sheet Metal Design, Mill/Lathe Parts, Weldments, Cast Parts, Assemblies, Mechanisms, Tooling, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Provide technical leadership for engineering projects involving Configuration Control, Engineering Change Requests, cost analysis, resource planning, vendor coordination, and procurement support.
Qualifications
- 8-12 years in relevant engineering experience in mechanical product development or a related manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Creo, AutoCAD, or comparable CAD platforms.
- Experience with PDM, CAD/ERP, Product Structure Management, and engineering configuration systems.
- Strong background in DFMEA, Hazard & Risk Assessment, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, and design validation practices.
- Knowledge of Pneumatic Systems, Vacuum Systems, Lubrication Systems, materials, coatings, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with ERP systems, BOM Creation/Release, Engineering Change Orders, Sourcing, Purchasing, and vendor evaluation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab, and technical data/statistical analysis; experience with project estimating, budgeting, and Design-to-Cost is preferred.
