Solve Complex Environmental Challenges.   Pay:  $95,000 - $125,000 base salary Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt Location: Office-Based with Occasional Field Visits Travel: Minimal travel required Reports To: Project Manager   The Role The Senior Scientist / Geologist serves as a senior technical leader within Tasman's Engineering & Consulting group, providing expertise, guidance, and strategic direction across large projects, client programs, and cross-functional teams. This role is responsible for defining technical approaches, reviewing complex environmental projects, supporting innovation initiatives, mentoring staff, and helping drive successful project execution. The ideal candidate is a highly experienced environmental professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while supporting the development of project teams and technical programs. As a trusted resource across the organization, this position influences project outcomes, technical standards, and long-term business success.   What You'll Be Doing Technical Leadership & Environmental Expertise Provide technical oversight and guidance on complex environmental projects and sites Review environmental investigations, remediation strategies, and corrective action approaches Evaluate and support implementation of innovative remedial technologies and solutions Serve as a technical resource for project teams, clients, and leadership Support company-wide technical initiatives and best practices Project Support & Technical Reviews Review and provide guidance on work plans, technical reports, and Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) Assist project teams with project scoping, planning, scheduling, and technical execution Support project managers in managing project risks, deliverables, and client expectations Help define project priorities and technical objectives Ensure technical consistency, quality, and regulatory compliance across projects Leadership, Mentorship & Collaboration Mentor and train environmental scientists, geologists, engineers, and project staff Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate technical resources across projects Foster accountability, ownership, and collaboration within project teams Support workforce development and technical growth initiatives Provide high-level technical problem solving and decision support Strategic & Organizational Support Contribute to development of technical standards, methodologies, and best practices Support innovation efforts and continuous improvement initiatives Influence technical direction for major projects and client programs Collaborate with engineering, construction, EHS, and project controls teams to achieve project objectives   What You Bring Required Relevant technical diploma, bachelor's degree, or equivalent higher education in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental consulting, engineering, remediation, or oil & gas sectors Specialized knowledge of environmental investigation and remediation practices Demonstrated experience supporting projects of varying size, scope, and complexity Experience collaborating with EHS, engineering, construction, and project controls teams Advanced technical problem-solving abilities Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent technical writing and document preparation skills Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to influence outcomes and drive collaboration across teams Valid driver's license Authorization to work in the United States Preferred Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related technical discipline Experience working with environmental regulatory agencies Strong knowledge of environmental compliance and remediation programs Experience leading innovation initiatives and technical development efforts Professional registration or certifications relevant to environmental or engineering disciplines   Work Environment This role operates primarily in a professional office environment with occasional field responsibilities.
