Shift: Day; 4 10-hour, days vary
Location: 2525 S DOWNING ST, Denver, 80210 (Porter Hospital)
The role you’ll contribute:
Assists in smooth daily operations of the operating rooms by performing room preparation and assembling needed supplies and instruments for specialty service lines. Coordinates functions and activities of all surgical specialties – maintaining appropriate supplies, instruments, vendor needs and physician preferences. Covers specialty service in absence of the Charge Nurse. Maintains clinical expertise and assists in training staff and orienting new hires in all aspects of the specialties – procedures, equipment, advances in technology and advances in clinical practice. Participates in strategic planning and related implementation activities. In the scrub role, performs all functions of the role in a manner that is consistent with a positive role model and in line with best practice.

Serves as patient advocate and provides patient care when required.
Ensures compliance, provides coaching and monitors staff to ensure they are adhering to CMS and Joint Commission standards to include core measures, AORN, AST, and AAMI standards.
Complies with the National Patient Safety Goals.
Tracks unit equipment – missing, broken, replacement needs.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Required qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Completion of an approved course for Surgical Technologist Required
2+ years OR experience Required
BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado Required
Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or
Certification as a Tech in Surgery from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Required
