Job Overview We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Yard Worker to join our team in Denver, CO. In this full-time role, you will play a key part in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of daily yard activities. Responsibilities include sorting and organizing rail cars, coupling and uncoupling rail cars, scaling trucks, and assisting with freight handling to support seamless operations. The ideal candidate will inspect equipment, operate switches and signals, and help maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard environment. This position requires strong communication and teamwork skills, as you will work closely with yard personnel, train crews, and operations staff to coordinate daily activities. Couple and uncouple rail cars safely and accurately. Scale trucks in and out of the yard. Inspect equipment regularly to identify safety or maintenance issues. Operate switches and signals to direct rail traffic. Communicate directions and operational needs clearly with yard personnel and train crews. Assist in loading and unloading freight as required. Operate forklifts when needed (prior experience is a plus). Enforce proper housekeeping practices and maintain a clean, organized yard free from debris, spills, and waste. Support operators with various tasks to ensure smooth workflow. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by management. May require occasional overtime, weekends or holiday shifts as dictated by business needs What You Need: High school diploma or GED required, previous relevant experience may replace educational requirements. Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications. Must be self‑motivated, dependable, and hard‑working. Ability to remain focused and avoid distractions during working hours (e.g., refrain from cell phone use). Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs multiple times per day, with or without accommodation.
