DTI Trucks is seeking a dependable and motivated Lot Technician to support daily dealership and service operations. This position is responsible for maintaining organization and efficiency across the lot, assisting the service department, transporting vehicles, and performing light mechanical and maintenance work on commercial trucks and equipment.


The ideal candidate is safety-focused, organized, mechanically inclined, and comfortable operating medium and heavy-duty trucks.


Responsibilities

  • Perform light mechanical and maintenance work including:
    • Replacing lights and bulbs
    • Installing or repairing mudflaps
    • Minor truck repairs and adjustments
    • General lot and vehicle upkeep
  • Move and organize trucks throughout dealership lots
  • Transport trucks to and from service bays
  • Retrieve and deliver parts for the service department
  • Transfer trucks between dealership locations, vendors, customers, and off-site facilities
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and professional lot appearance
  • Conduct basic inspections and report any damage or mechanical concerns
  • Assist sales and service departments with operational needs as required
  • Ensure all vehicle movements are completed safely and efficiently


Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not required
  • Ability to operate medium and heavy-duty trucks safely
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience preferred
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift, move, and work around heavy equipment and parts
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality required


Preferred Experience

  • Commercial truck dealership or fleet experience
  • Light mechanical or maintenance experience


Work Environment

  • Primarily outdoor work environment
  • Frequent walking, climbing, lifting, and entering/exiting trucks
  • Fast-paced dealership and service setting
