Position Summary:

The Shift Manager will plan, direct and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships across departments to support operational efficiency and achieve production goals.
  • Direct and coordinate the work activities of employees involved in production processes, including inspectors, machine operators/setters and fabricators.
  • Enforce company safety standards and sanitation requirements to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Inspect materials, products and equipment to identify defects, quality concerns or equipment issues.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, work instructions and company policies and communicate expectations clearly to employees.
  • Monitor and track employee attendance and hours worked in accordance with company practices.
  • Monitor production processes, gauges, controls and performance indicators to ensure compliance with quality and production standards.
  • Partner with supervisors and leadership teams to coordinate production activities across departments and shifts.
  • Review and analyze production schedules, work orders, reports and operational data to determine production requirements and evaluate output performance.
  • Train employees on work processes, equipment operation and safety procedures, or coordinate training with experienced team members.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment required; prior quality or leadership expereince preferred.
  • Experience operating and working with a variety of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn and navigate new systems efficiently.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and strong sense of accountability.
  • Strong leadership skills, including team building, decision-making and employee development.
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule as business needs require.
  • Working knowledge of business and management principles, including budgeting, resource allocation and human resources practices.
  • Hgh School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree is a plus.
