Position Summary:
The Shift Manager will plan, direct and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise and uncontrolled temperatures.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships across departments to support operational efficiency and achieve production goals.
- Direct and coordinate the work activities of employees involved in production processes, including inspectors, machine operators/setters and fabricators.
- Enforce company safety standards and sanitation requirements to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Inspect materials, products and equipment to identify defects, quality concerns or equipment issues.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, work instructions and company policies and communicate expectations clearly to employees.
- Monitor and track employee attendance and hours worked in accordance with company practices.
- Monitor production processes, gauges, controls and performance indicators to ensure compliance with quality and production standards.
- Partner with supervisors and leadership teams to coordinate production activities across departments and shifts.
- Review and analyze production schedules, work orders, reports and operational data to determine production requirements and evaluate output performance.
- Train employees on work processes, equipment operation and safety procedures, or coordinate training with experienced team members.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment required; prior quality or leadership expereince preferred.
- Experience operating and working with a variety of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn and navigate new systems efficiently.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and strong sense of accountability.
- Strong leadership skills, including team building, decision-making and employee development.
- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule as business needs require.
- Working knowledge of business and management principles, including budgeting, resource allocation and human resources practices.
- Hgh School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree is a plus.
