We will be hiring for this position at our upcoming Georgia O'Keeffe: Architecture Job Fair! Please join us onsite at the DIA on Monday, July 13th and Monday, July 27th from 9:00am-3:30pm to participate in the hiring fair. This position will begin mid-August and end with the exhibition in early July of 2027.


JOB TITLE: Stock Assistant

REPORTS TO: Director, Retail Operations

CLASSIFICATION: Temporary, Part-Time, Non-Exempt

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Director, Retail Operations, the Stock Assistant is responsible for receiving, processing, and ticketing all retail merchandise and delivering them to the stores, shipping online orders, and supporting supply orders.  


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Receiveand ticketall incoming merchandisein a timely manner, including physical movement of shipments and processing ofappropriate paperwork.
  • Communicate by phone or email with customers for shipping and returnsdetails
  • Deliver merchandise to locations including interdepartmental deliveries and loading dock pick-ups.
  • Maintainappropriate stocklevels ofin-store shopping bags, boxes,packing,and shipping materials for thedepartment.
  • Organize merchandise in theshipping and receiving areain an orderly fashion andmaintaina neat and clean workspace.
  • Assistwithstockingmerchandise on the selling flooras needed.
  • Assistwithstockingmerchandise deliveries in stockrooms of shop(s).
  • Assistwith reconciling annual physical inventory.
  • Apply DIA values to interactions to support a culture of belonging among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 


QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

High school diploma or GED equivalent required. One (1) year of retail experience required, specialty retail preferred.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Demonstrated collaboration skills to work across departments and divisions internally and with diverse stakeholders externally.  
  • Demonstrated skills to prioritize and complete multiple tasks to meet deadlines and goals. 
  • Ability to share clear, effective, and professional information through talking or writing. 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strong customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with attention to detail and produceaccurateresults. 
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changes in priorities based on operational need.
  • Ability to work occasional weekend and evening hours for special events.
  • Must be proficient in the latest version of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain professional, productive and courteous interactions that promote positive teamwork. This encompasses going beyond giving and receiving instructions and includes but is not limited to (a) performing work activities requiring interacting or speaking with others; and (b) responding appropriately to constructive feedback or suggestions for improvement from a supervisor.
