Job Details: Job Location: Dynatect LSI - Traverse City, MI, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Category: Manufacturing, CNC Turn/Mill Operator - 1st and 2nd Shift (1st Shift Training Required) 1st shift - 6 am - 2:30 pm 2nd shift - 2:30 pm - 11:30 pmLSI – Lead Screws International | Dynatect ManufacturingPosition SummaryLSI is seeking an experienced CNC Turn/Mill Operator to set up, operate, troubleshoot, CNC Multi-axis machines used in the production of precision lead screws, ball screws, and related components.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Mori Seiki and/or Doosan SMX CNC equipment and be capable of taking a job from setup through production while maintaining quality, productivity, and tight dimensional requirements.This is a hands-on machining position for an individual who understands CNC turning, milling, tooling, offsets, inspection, and process troubleshooting.Key Responsibilities Set up and operate Mori Seiki and Doosan SMX CNC turn/mill machines. Make program edits and adjustments as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and machining specifications. Select and install appropriate tooling, inserts, and work holding. Set tool and work offsets and make dimensional adjustments. Adjust feeds, speeds, tooling, and cutting conditions to optimize machining processes. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment. Troubleshoot machining, tooling, dimensional, and programming issues. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and production requirements. Perform tool changes and manage tool life. Verify finished parts meet customer and engineering specifications. Complete production and quality documentation. Work closely with Engineering and Production to resolve machining issues and improve processes. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety and quality procedures.Required Qualifications Previous CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience setting up and operating CNC turning and/or milling equipment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. Ability to use precision measuring equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to make CNC program adjustments and understand basic G-code. Ability to work independently and maintain accurate production and quality standards.Preferred Qualifications Familiar with Fanuc based controllers Experience with Mori Seiki CNC equipment. Experience with Doosan SMX multi-tasking CNC equipment. CNC programming experience with Esprit/Fusion. Experience with multi-axis machining. Experience with live tooling, C-axis and Y-axis machining. Experience optimizing CNC programs, tooling, feeds, and speeds. Experience machining precision components to tight tolerances. Experience in lead screw, ball screw, or similar precision machining is a plus.Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who is more than a machine operator.
