IT Network Technician
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, test, label, and document copper and fiber-optic cabling across data centers, IDF rooms, and user workstations.
- Perform CAT6 cable termination and crimping, fiber-optic splicing, testing, and connectivity verification.
- Install, connect, configure, and troubleshoot switches, routers, servers, PCs, IP phones, printers, IPTV set-top boxes, and related peripherals.
- Diagnose and resolve Layer 1 connectivity issues involving cables, ports, patch panels, connectors, and network devices.
- Monitor servers, networks, and IT infrastructure to ensure availability, performance, and reliable operation.
- Support LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, VLAN, and VPN connectivity and use network monitoring tools to identify faults.
- Maintain data center and IDF cabling according to passive cabling standards and approved documentation practices.
- Support server installation, rack-and-stack activities, test environment setup, and modification of existing equipment configurations.
- Inspect and provide basic technical support for UPS systems, including DC UPS equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance schedules, repair logs, fault records, cable documentation, and equipment configuration details.
- Maintain an updated inventory of IT assets, including switches, routers, servers, IP phones, IPTV devices, and other infrastructure components.
- Identify shortages of computer, network, and cabling equipment and report requirements to the concerned authority.
- Apply IT security principles, safety procedures, and industry best practices while performing technical activities.
- Work independently and coordinate effectively with technical teams, users, vendors, and project stakeholders.

Requirements
- Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Networking, Electronics, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum five years of experience as an IT Network Technician, Network Support Technician, or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, network infrastructure, data centers, and IDF room environments.
- Hands-on experience with copper and fiber-optic cabling, including CAT6 crimping, termination, testing, labeling, and fiber splicing.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and Layer 1 network connectivity issues.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VLANs, VPNs, routers, switches, and network monitoring tools.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting servers, PCs, printers, IP phones, IPTV devices, and other IT peripherals.
- Good knowledge of passive cabling standards and structured cabling documentation.
- Familiarity with UPS systems, including DC UPS systems.
- Understanding of IT security principles and infrastructure best practices.
- Ability to maintain equipment inventories, maintenance schedules, repair logs, and technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical team.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- High proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- CompTIA A+, CCNA, Microsoft, fiber-optic, or other relevant IT certifications are preferred.
