Description

Markon is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Fort Meade customer by designing, developing, and maintaining secure software solutions that enable enterprise data integration and mission-critical cybersecurity operations. This role develops scalable data processing pipelines, cloud-native services, and automated workflows using Apache NiFi, Kubernetes, and modern programming languages. The role supports reliable data movement, infrastructure automation, and enterprise cloud integration across AWS and Azure while delivering resilient, production-ready capabilities for complex mission environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain enterprise data flows supporting cybersecurity mission services.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Apache NiFi processors and pipelines for data ingestion, routing, transformation, and delivery.
  • Build software components and automation using Python, Java, Groovy, and Bash to support data processing and system integration.
  • Develop and integrate containerized services within Kubernetes environments.
  • Automate infrastructure and application configuration using Ansible, Puppet, Bicep, or comparable Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools.
  • Engineer integrations across AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Validate data quality, transformation logic, and end-to-end service functionality.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving data flows, containerized applications, cloud services, and system interfaces.
  • Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, deployment procedures, and operational guidance.
  • Lead technical collaboration with developers, platform engineers, and mission stakeholders to deliver secure, production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer. 
  • Bachelor's degree and 14+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong experience developing and maintaining Apache NiFi data flows or comparable enterprise data integration platforms
  • Experience with data processing, transformation, and enterprise service integration.
  • Experience developing software using Python, Java, Groovy, and Bash.
  • Experience integrating applications and services across AWS and Azure cloud environments.
  • Experience with Ansible, Puppet, Bicep, or comparable Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools.
  • Experience developing and deploying containerized applications using Kubernetes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting cyber threat intelligence or cybersecurity infrastructure.
  • Experience designing multi-domain or cross-domain data flows.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices, Infrastructure as Code, enterprise observability, and monitoring tools.

Salary Range

USD $190,000.00 - USD $205,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
