Description

Markon is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Fort Meade customer by providing systems engineering expertise for Radio Frequency (RF) data processing and enterprise data flow capabilities. This role supports the design, integration, and sustainment of RF systems, ensuring reliable data ingestion, processing, and network connectivity across mission systems. Working closely with engineers and mission stakeholders, the Systems Engineer develops system designs, manages technical documentation, and supports the operational health of critical data processing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage system requirements, architecture, and engineering solutions supporting RF data processing and mission systems.
  • Monitor and maintain Apache NiFi production data flows to ensure reliable data ingestion, processing, and delivery.
  • Submit and manage Data Management Requests (DMRs) and Data Change Requests (DCRs) to support system operations and enhancements.
  • Develop preliminary system designs and communicate technical solutions to Government stakeholders and engineering teams.
  • Coordinate collection and delivery of data samples required for system integration, testing, and validation.
  • Support updates to System Security Plans (SSPs), including coordinating requests to add IP addresses and other system changes.
  • Monitor system health, identify data flow issues, and resolve data backlogs, processing errors, and customer data formatting issues.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including RF antenna drawings, network diagrams, and system architecture documentation.
  • Create and maintain data flow diagrams documenting network connectivity and system interfaces.
  • Utilize Jira and Confluence to document engineering activities, manage technical tasks, and support Agile collaboration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support system integration, testing, deployment, and operational sustainment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer. 
  • Active IAT Level II (DoD 8570/8140 compliant) certification (e.g., Security+).
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical discipline, and 14+ years of systems engineering experience. Five (5) additional years of systems engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) systems, including analog-to-digital data flow and conversion processes.
  • Experience supporting Apache NiFi or comparable enterprise data flow technologies.
  • Experience developing system designs, engineering documentation, and technical diagrams.
  • Experience creating and maintaining RF antenna drawings, network diagrams, and data flow diagrams.
  • Experience supporting data management processes, system integration, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence to support engineering documentation and collaboration.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community RF collection or signal processing systems.
  • Experience with enterprise data ingestion, ETL, or streaming data architectures.
  • Experience supporting system security documentation and configuration management processes.
  • Experience working within Agile software or systems engineering environments.

Salary Range

USD $165,000.00 - USD $175,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
