Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collects pertinent medical information and reviews physician’s order to identify
reason for examination and potential contraindications.
2. Explains procedure to patient and ensures consent form is signed if required for
examination.
3. Positions patient and administers oral, rectal or intravenous contrast as
required. Monitors patient reaction and responds to adverse reactions with
emergency procedures as necessary.
4. Selects equipment parameters and logs pertinent information.
5. Performs scanning procedure. Modifies parameters as required to improve
visualization of desired anatomy.
6. Perform POC iSTAT testing and screen for contrast contraindications.
7. Organizes images, performs the scan and transfers exam to PACS system.
8. Enters patient charges into computer.
9. Performs minor maintenance and repairs on Computerized Tomography (CT)
equipment. Refers other problems to the department Supervisor.
10. Assists in orienting and training personnel as necessary.
11. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental
policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical
equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor
injury-accident to Manager.


Qualifications

REQUIRED

  1. Graduate of an ARRT or NMTCB accredited school
  2. Registered CT Technologist with the ARRT (CT) or NMTCB (CT)
  3. Must hold American Heart Association Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

 

PREFERRED

 

  1. Prior training or experience in Computerized Tomography (CT) scanning.
  2. Ability to insert intravenous catheter

Work Hours:

8:00 am - 4:30 pm
