A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Sangeeta Dhawan, at the Arthur Riggs Diabetes and Metabolism Research Institute.We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow interested in studying the epigenetic regulation of pancreatic beta-cell mass in health and diabetes.

Our lab鈥檚 primary focus is understanding beta cell failure from a developmental perspective. We are interested in the dynamics of beta-cell heterogeneity, islet organization and cell-cell interaction in fetal and neonatal development. The Dhawan lab utilizes genetic mouse models, molecular biology, imaging and epigenetic techniques to study the cellular identity, function, remodeling, and survival of beta-cells in physiological and pathological conditions.

As a successful candidate, you will:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Have a willingness to learn and establish new methodologies and research directions

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Have extensive experience in molecular biology and rodent models

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Have experience with epigenetic techniques



Your qualifications should include:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 PhD in Molecular, Cellular or Developmental Biology.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong interest in diabetes research.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Extensive experience with basic molecular biology skills.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Extensive experience in handling animal models.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience with tissue collection, histology, immunohistochemistry, and cell sorting.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience with cell culture, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience with epigenetic and single cell methods preferred.
