We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Manager 2– High Dependency Unit to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team in a leading Dublin hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Provide effective clinical and operational leadership within the High Dependency Unit (HDU).

  • Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred care and coordinate care from admission to discharge.

  • Lead, motivate, supervise and support nursing staff while ensuring effective delegation and teamwork.

  • Manage staffing levels, rosters, leave, workload, equipment and other resources efficiently.

  • Promote continuous professional development, staff orientation, education and competency assessment.

  • Ensure compliance with JCI, HIQA, hospital policies, infection control and health and safety standards.

  • Support clinical decision-making, manage complex situations and respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents.

  • Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives, staff, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Monitor staff performance, maintain appropriate skill mix and address conflicts or performance concerns.

  • Contribute to quality improvement, service development, policy implementation and the delivery of evidence-based HDU care.



Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current registration on the NMBI Live Register.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant clinical experience.

  • Management qualification or willingness to undertake a management course.

  • Good computer skills are desirable.
