Forming and Assembly Operator

Special  Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

1. Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control for maximizing the effective manufacture of product.
2. Environmental, Health, Safety and Security – Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote a safe and compliant workplace in accordance with applicable local, state, or federal regulations for the protection of people, property, data, etc.
3. Mathematics – Basic knowledge of arithmetic, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and their applications.
4. Communication- Effectively communicate with others at all levels of the organization both written and audibly to convey necessary information effectively.
5. Continuous Improvement- Objectively monitoring/assessing performance of yourself, procedures, products, etc., to make suggestions or corrective actions that drive continuous improvement.
6. Able to read a mechanical drawing.
7. Willingness to be trained.  Good listening skills and note taking during training. 

Key Job Tasks:

1. Tends machines that wind, shape, cut, bend or form flat blanks to required specifications.
2. Positions metal blanks in various types of presses.
3. Depresses pedal or operates push buttons to lower shaping die that stamps out forms.
4. Drills and taps holes or deburrs products as necessary.
5. Measures products for conformance to specifications, using gauges, optical comparators, calipers and micrometers.
6. Spot welds or solders as required.
7. Operates taping machines and cuts product.
8. Records inspection and test results and prepares and submits reports as required.
9. Packs products into cartons or packs filled cartons in shipping containers.
10. Seals and loads container.
11. May form shipping container or attach label onto container.
12. May weigh product to verify accuracy of quantities.
13. May hand stamp or stencil identifying information on cartons or shipping containers.
14. Racks or wires product for finishing operation, removes product as well.
15. Clean and maintain equipment and area around your workspace.
16. Documenting/Recording Information-Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form.
17. Other tasks as required or directed by supervisor or manager.
