Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Quality Management System / ISO 9001 Support 

  • Support development, implementation, and maintenance of the Madix Quality Management System.  
  • Assist with ISO 9001:2015 readiness activities, including procedures, records, audits, risk assessments, training, and management review inputs.  
  • Create and maintain quality procedures, SOPs, work instructions, forms, inspection records, and process flow documentation.  
  • Support document control and record control activities through SharePoint, Q-Connect, SAP, or other approved systems.  
  • Participate in internal audits, layered process audits, product audits, and process audits.  
  • Help identify gaps in compliance, process control, training, inspection, and documentation.  

Corrective Action / RCCA / Customer Complaints 

  • Lead or support root cause investigations for internal defects, customer complaints, supplier issues, escapes, and recurring nonconformances.  
  • Manage corrective actions using 3P, 5 Why, fishbone, RCCA, containment, corrective action, and effectiveness verification methods.  
  • Support Field Quality Reports, customer complaints, replacement reviews, and external CARs.  
  • Ensure quality review occurs when customer complaints or no-charge replacements meet defined risk, cost, quantity, or repeat-issue thresholds.  
  • Track corrective actions to closure and verify actions are effective.  
  • Communicate findings clearly to production leaders, quality leadership, and cross-functional teams.  

Shop-Floor Quality Support 

  • Provide daily quality support to manufacturing areas such as stamping, roll forming, press brake, welding, robotic welding, paint, woodshop, assembly, packaging, and shipping.  
  • Support first-piece, last-piece, hourly inspection, certified operator checks, and production verification activities.  
  • Assist operators and team leaders with interpreting drawings, dimensions, tolerances, inspection requirements, and defect standards.  
  • Develop practical shop-floor quality controls, visual standards, setup sheets, inspection aids, and go/no-go gauges.  
  • Evaluate defects such as wrong dimensions, weld issues, paint defects, rust, burrs, dents, camber, twist, poor fit, missing parts, and packaging damage.  
  • Support containment activities, sorting, rework decisions, MRB disposition, scrap review, and product release decisions.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Inspection, Measurement, and Process Control 

  • Develop inspection plans, check sheets, sampling plans, and quality control methods.  
  • Support calibration and proper use of inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, height gauges, feeler gauges, paint mil gauges, and go/no-go fixtures.  
  • Assist with receiving inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, product audits, and supplier quality checks.  
  • Use data to identify trends in defects, warranty, complaints, MDRs, CARs, and inspection failures.  
  • Apply basic statistical tools such as Pareto charts, trend charts, control charts, capability studies, PPM, scrap rate, defect rate, and COPQ.  
  • Recommend process changes to reduce variation and improve quality at the source.  

Supplier and Material Quality 

  • Support supplier rejection activities, incoming inspection, supplier communication, and supplier corrective actions.  
  • Investigate material-related defects such as rust, incorrect gauge, camber, hardness, twist, paint issues, damaged material, and nonconforming purchased parts.  
  • Work with Materials, Purchasing, and Production to contain supplier issues and prevent production disruption.  
  • Assist with supplier scorecards, approved supplier list inputs, and supplier quality performance tracking.  

Systems and Data 

  • Use SAP, Q-Connect, Power Apps, SharePoint, Excel, and other systems to document inspections, defects, rejections, corrective actions, and quality records.  
  • Support improvement of quality apps, dashboards, inspection forms, and reporting tools.  
  • Enter, review, and analyze quality data for accuracy and completeness.  
  • Prepare quality reports for daily tier meetings, weekly quality reviews, management review, and customer/supplier discussions.  
  • Help standardize quality data collection across departments and sites.
