Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: East Edmond Library - Edmond, OK 73034Position Type: Half TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $16.62 - $16.62 HourlyTravel Percentage: NegligibleJOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Library Supervisor, the Access Specialist assists members by issuing and receiving library materials, locating books and other materials, managing members’ library accounts, issuing library cards, providing information about library accounts and services, assisting with self-service equipment and technology, and assisting with basic collection maintenance. This position will be assigned to the East Edmond Library, located at I-35 and East 15th Street in Edmond, OK.   The hiring salary for this position is $16.62 hourly.  This is a half-time position working 20 hours per week.  This position is not exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.  The candidate should be available to work all hours the library is open, including some weekends and evenings and have specific availability to work either Monday from 4:00 to 9:00 pm, Tuesday from 3:00 to 9:00 pm, Friday from 1:00 to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 to 3:00 pm or Wednesday from 4:00 to 9:00 pm, Thursday from 3:00 to 9:00 pm, Friday from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 pm.* *Hours are subject to change based on the needs of the library.   The Metropolitan Library System offers the following for half-time employees: Vacation Leave @ 4 hours per month Sick leave @ 4 hours per month Twelve paid holidays (subject to date of hire)     QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED; and One or more years of customer service experience. HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES: Experience with an automated circulation system. Strong desire to work with and help people.
