Schedule: this is a PRN (as needed), evening shift opening that does not have a set schedule or a specific number of hours it will work in a week.

How you’ll contribute

A Phlebotomist who excels in this role:

  • Collects specimens per state licensure, greets customers, and works collaboratively with other departments.
  • Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing.
  • Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies.
  • Assists with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including interviewing and screening donors.

What we’re looking for

  • License/Certification: 
    • Must hold a current Laboratory Assistant (Phlebotomy) License issued by the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH). Candidates with a pending license status may be considered for hire; an active license must be obtained within six (6) months of hire. All required training and certification fees related to a Laboratory Assistant licensure are the responsibility of the applicant. 
    • This position requires an additional Point-of-Care (POC) Analyst License. Required training and certification must be completed within six (6) months of hire. Associated POC training and certification fees will be covered by the hospital. 
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Education: High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate required.
