SEASONAL SCALE OPERATOR

AgState is currently looking for a seasonal scale operator. Do you have outstanding customer service? Join our team TODAY!

As a seasonal scale operator, you will be responsible for accurately operating the grain scale for the accounting office and provide outstanding customer service to our producers for an 8 to 10 week period running from mid-September to late October.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide outstanding customer service skills at all times when greeting and servicing customers.
  • Manage inbound and outbound grain shipments for customers coming across the truck scale.
  • Perform required record keeping for trucking weighing and accurate grading activities.
  • Coordination of delivery numbers, daily inputs, and verification of accuracy. 
  • Operates on-scale interface system and transfer of data.
  • Ability to run truck probe and grain testing machine. 
  • Comfortable working at our outside dump pit alongside grain trucks.
  • Manage inbound grain shipments including the coordination of delivery numbers, input of scale tickets daily and verification of accuracy. In on-scale interface system, manage transfer of data.
  • Respond to customer requests at counter and over phone including but not limited to the following areas:, bids, grain contracting, grain offers, customer history, grain settlements, statements, sales, questions, etc.
  • Responds to customer inquiries at the counter.
  • Backups other functions within the office as requested.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel, 10-key adding machine, fax machine, copier and telephone.
  • Ability to work Overtime as required. 

 

 Other Qualifications:

  • Must be a detail-oriented individual with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
