ESR Melter

Description

Union Electric Steel Corporation is seeking an ESR Melter candidate for our Erie, PA re-melting plant. This is an hourly position and applicants must be willing to work all shifts and weekends, as required.

Operate and maintain ESR equipment to produce high-quality steel ingots. Responsibilities include: 

• Monitoring melting process and adjusting parameters as needed
• Preparing electrodes and slag for remelting
• Ensuring cleanliness and chemical composition of steel
• Troubleshooting issues with equipment or process
• Maintaining accurate production records
• Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of ESR equipment

Welding and Equipment Experience:

• Flux core MIG welding experience ( preferred)
• Arc-Air experience ( preferred)
• Overhead crane and forklift operation experience (preferred)

Key Skills:

• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues
• Attention to detail and quality control
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Physical ability to work in a manufacturing environment
