Where You'll Work

Our Evansville, IN location is part of the Coatings division, and creates various breading, batter, and coating blends for Kerry brands and customers. We currently employ around 165 employees. We are a part of the Evansville Local Labor union 561.

Compensation Data

The pay rate for this position is $35 per hour.  Kerry offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, Employee Share Plan, Life, disability, and accident insurance.  This job posting is anticipated to expire on 1/2/2027.

What You'll Do

3rd Shift is 10 pm to 6:30 am

Maintenance Bonus $2500 sign on bonus $250 after two weeks no attendance issues. $2250 after 120 days.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to help keep our Evansville facility operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. In this hands-on role, you will repair and maintain plant equipment, support equipment installations, complete building maintenance, and assist with the coordination of daily maintenance activities.

This position is ideal for a skilled maintenance professional who stays focused in a fast-paced environment, responds positively to changing priorities, contributes practical solutions, and enjoys sharing technical knowledge with others.

  • Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment, including mixers, conveyors, compressors, and pumps.
  • Complete work-order repairs, inspections, adjustments, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using low-voltage DC and 120-, 240-, and 480-volt AC power in accordance with applicable electrical guidelines.
  • Repair or replace switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, and other control devices.
  • Troubleshoot controls to the I/O level and connect to PLC systems so third parties can inspect or troubleshoot programs.
  • Set up and operate welders, drill presses, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and other metalworking equipment.
  • Fabricate and modify new and existing equipment.
  • Support the daily maintenance schedule by helping review staffing availability, priorities, and progress against plan.
  • Recommend equipment, procedures, and long-term solutions that strengthen preventive maintenance and improve day-to-day operations.
  • Help train team members and keep the maintenance team informed about abnormal or critical situations.
  • Promote safe work practices and help ensure employees, contractors, and visitors follow applicable quality and food safety requirements.
  • Operate forklifts and aerial lifts and assist in the parts storeroom as needed.

What You'll Need To Succeed

  • Three or more years of relevant maintenance experience.
  • A two-year degree in industrial technology or advanced manufacturing is preferred.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing facility is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical repair, general welding, electrical troubleshooting, and PLC troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong electrical controls experience, or the ability to develop that capability within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Ability to use hand tools, handheld power tools, and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with production and maintenance team members.
  • Ability to work through complex problems and develop logical, practical solutions.
  • Ability to lead by example and help train fellow team members.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This role works in an industrial manufacturing environment that may include high noise levels, wet floors, steam-related burn hazards, confined spaces, and outdoor temperatures ranging from below 0°F to above 100°F. The position requires frequent climbing, crawling, bending, twisting, and working from ladders or aerial lifts, sometimes at heights exceeding 20 feet.

Team members must be able to regularly lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift 50 pounds, handle long or heavy materials overhead, and apply sufficient force to operate tools and tighten large nuts and bolts. Close, distance, and color vision, the ability to adjust focus, and sufficient hearing to help diagnose equipment issues are also required.
