RN - Perioperative Surgery Nurse

Jefferson Community Health & Life is looking for two RNs to join our Surgery Department. We currently have two openings for this same position, each working 24 hours per week.

Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., three days per week (Monday through Friday). No weekends and no holidays.

Position Summary:  Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for the patient from pre-operative assessment to intra-operative intervention on to the post-operative evaluation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska

* BLS, ACLS

* PALS preferred but not required

*Familiarity with aseptic techniques, sterilization, surgical instruments, supplies and equipment preferred.

*Surgical nursing experience of 1–3 years is preferred

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

*Performs assessment activities which include collecting, analyzing, and documenting data.

*Coordinates and plans needs for the surgical procedure.

*Implements and provides safe and therapeutic care for patients during surgical intervention.

*Examines and evaluates patient care/procedures within the operating room, PACU, and CS.
