Registered Nurse (RN) Preceptor
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

SUMMARYÂ
The Registered Nurse (RN) Preceptor completes clinical training for all new hire field staff. The Preceptor works with the training team to ensure delivery of quality training. The RN Preceptor ensures the COP for the Skilled Home Aide is met by providing the required competency evaluation at hire and at any time deemed necessary by the agency, as well provides training of home health aides when new education is needed and supervision of home health aides during the supervised practical portion of the trainings. The RN Preceptor ensures compliance with all federal, state, and agency rules and regulations. ASHN adopts the RN scope of practice as outlined by the state for its licensed RN personnel. The RN is responsible for all practices and duties within the scope of practice as outlined by the state.Â

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
Completes training for all field staff new hires at assigned location/sÂ
Ensures proper training and documentation techniques are taught to staff that follow and fulfill CMS guidelinesÂ
Provides training of home health aides and the supervision of home health aides during the supervised practical portion of the trainingsÂ
Grades field training documents to ensure understanding of documentation systemÂ
Work in the field with staff as neededÂ
Ensure quality and safe delivery of home health servicesÂ
Monitor field nurse activities regarding execution of OASIS, ICD9 coding, etc.Â
Work with Training Team to deliver complete initial and recurrent clinical trainingÂ
Collaborate with Training Manager regarding new initiativesÂ
Collaborate with Quality Team to improve patient outcomesÂ
Develop tools and learning aides for field staff and clinical training for annual competenciesÂ
Work with Training Manager to develop clinical care documents, disease management processes and clinical policiesÂ
Reviews clinical documentation in accordance with agency protocol and Medicare/Federal guidelinesÂ
Work with Training Manager to ensure program compliance with local, state and federal regulationsÂ
Maintains active RN license in state of employmentÂ
Maintains a professional appearance as a representative of the companyÂ
Understands, implements and practices policies and procedures for agency operationÂ
Performs assigned duties with use of computer and phoneÂ
Completes and submits all required documentation within specified company requirementsÂ
Other duties as assignedÂ

QUALIFICATIONSÂ
Two years of nursing experience, at least one year must be in the provision of home health careÂ
Previous clinical training experience preferredÂ
Ability to drive to assigned training locations, as neededÂ
Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are preferred as well as electronic medical documentationÂ
Ability to create positive impressions and communicate with a variety of people and maintain effective communication with patients, families, physicians and co-workersÂ
Ability to remain calm, have patience, compassion and be accommodating while caring and working with patientsÂ
Knowledgeable on nursing best practicesÂ
Ability to make appropriate nursing judgmentsÂ
