RESPONSIBILITIES / RESPONSABILIDADES - 

  • Design and develop LV wiring harnesses and HV cable assemblies for automotive and commercial vehicle platforms.
  • Developing Bills of Materials from Customer inputs, able to verify Customer supplied BOM with drawing.
  • Developing Bills of Materials from Customers inputs for rapid responses to Customer RFIs and RFQs
  • Develop wiring schematics, harness drawings, topology layouts, and manufacturing documentation using Capital Harness Software tool.
  • Perform harness routing, packaging studies, bundle optimization, and component integration activities.
  • Interpret and implement customer engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and electrical requirements.
  • Select and integrate connectors, terminals, clips, splices, shielding, conduits, and protective components.
  • Understanding Customer supplied DVPR and interpreting those and executing it.
  • Support prototype builds, engineering changes, issue resolution, and design validation activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, purchasing, validation, quality, and supplier engineering.
  • Participate in DFMEA, DFM/DFA reviews, and engineering change management processes.
  • Ensure designs meet automotive quality, safety, and regulatory requirements for LV and HV systems.
  • Support customer meetings, design reviews, and program launch activities.
  • Support for organizational activities for VA/VE &  inventory control 

KNOWLEDGE / CONOCIMIENTO-  

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with Elec knowledge.
  • 3–5 years of experience in automotive or commercial vehicle wiring harness design and development.
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens Capital Harness Software.
  • Strong knowledge of Low Voltage Harnesses and High Voltage Cable systems.
  • Good understanding of vehicle Electrical/Electronic (E/E) architecture.
  • Knowledge of automotive connectors, terminals, grounding, shielding, and wiring protection systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret customer drawings, engineering specifications, and OEM standards.
  • Familiarity with automotive product development lifecycle and engineering release processes.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

  • Previous role with key OEM/Tier account; light vehicle, commercial vehicle, specialized product OEM related to agriculture, construction or recreational sports.

Skill/ knowledge requirements:

  • Technical expertise in harness design and development & Bills of Material creation.
  • Vehicle E/E architecture understanding
  • Customer harness / component specification /standard interpretation
  • Cross-functional collaboration with understanding on VA/VE
  • Design validation (DVPR) and problem-solving
  • Time management and project coordination
  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Medium physical activity – ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • High level of initiative and works well in team environment.
  • Able to manage stressful situations and deadline pressures.
  • Plans and executes responsibilities with minimal direction.
