Engineering Intern

Job Details: Job Location: Detroit Engineering Office (DEC) - Farmington Hills, MI, Salary Range: $18.50, SUMMARY:Under the direction of Design Engineers or other responsible employee, provide assistance in the design and production of company products. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with Sales Department, communicate and assist the design engineer with customers to establish product parameters. Interface with tooling manager, production personnel, suppliers, etc. to reflect good production practices into product designs. Utilize various engineering design tools such as CAD to develop and evaluate product design concepts. NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: Write product specifications and product test plans consistent with customer needs and internal requirements. Perform competitive product analysis and evaluation. Perform maintenance of quality standards information for QS9000/ISO9001 compliance. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent. Related training and experience using CAD software, which includes AutoCad, etc. Experience with geometric tolerancing and statistical analysis. Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
