The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.

Information Technology Services Internship Program

Be a contributing member of an early career professional cohort that will transform scholastic learnings to hands on experiences under the direction and guidance of an assigned manager and mentor.  Increase your technical and professional acumen by working independently and/or on a team to deliver critical initiatives and projects that support the technology needs of our continually improving healthcare system. 

HHC Information Technology Services is continuously assessing specific demand within our teams and anticipate potential openings in many of the following areas:

·         Infrastructure & Networks – support systems, networks, software

·         Cloud – support transition to and use of cloud resources

·         Telephony – support telephone, Voice over IP

·         Cybersecurity – protect networks from unauthorized access

·         Service – assist internal users with technical issues 

·         Clinical & Bio Medical - engage in the integration of medical devices (MRI, IV pumps, etc.)

·         Applications – provide Business Analyst support to clinical/non-clinical applications

·         Data Analytics – support the Google healthcare data engine integration

·         Digital – engage in design thinking, human centered design, mobile apps development

·         Project Management – utilize PMI and Agile methodologies in support of technical projects



Minimal Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma

·         Currently enrolled in an accredited post High School program

·         Full time availability (Monday-Friday, ~40 hours)

·         Ability to work onsite (Farmington, CT | free parking or other HHC locations)

·         Legally authorized to work in the United States

·         Vaccinated (Flu)

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Mathematics, Database Management or other technology related field

·         Previous relevant Technology internship or industry experience

·         Strong interpersonal & communication skills (verbal/written)

·         Proficient computer skills

·         Integrity

·         Adaptable/flexible

·         Critical thinking/Technical curiosity

·         Learning agility

·         Self-Motivated/Self Starter

·         Acts with sense of urgency

·         Able to work independently and as part of a team
