Position Summary

The Laboratory Coordinator for Physical Science supports instructional activities in physics, engineering, and related courses by preparing laboratory materials, maintaining equipment and facilities, and assisting faculty and students during hands-on learning experiences. This position ensures safe, organized, and engaging laboratory environment while providing instructional support.

Major Duties:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Prepares, organizes, and distributes laboratory materials, equipment, and supplies for physics and engineering courses.

聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assists instructors during laboratory activities, demonstrations, projects, and STEM events.

聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Builds, assembles, modifies, services, troubleshoots, and maintains laboratory equipment, instructional apparatus, and specialized teaching tools used in physical science and engineering activities.

聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Procures, inventories, organizes, and maintains the supplies and consumable materials required for laboratory experiments, demonstrations, and hands-on learning activities.

聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Designs and fabricates simple instructional models, prototypes, fixtures, and laboratory components to support classroom and laboratory instruction.

聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintains laboratory equipment, tools, and inventory; coordinate repairs, replacement, and preventative maintenance as needed.

聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ensures compliance with laboratory safety procedures, chemical handling guidelines, and applicable regulations.

聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Supports students by providing guidance on laboratory procedures, equipment operation, engineering design projects, and safe laboratory practices.

聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Manages storage, organization, and documentation of laboratory resources and consumable supplies.

聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assists with the setup, operation, and maintenance of educational technology, data collection devices, makerspace equipment, and STEM learning kits.


路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coordinates laboratory schedules and prepare facilities for classes, workshops, outreach events, and special projects.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintains records related to inventory, safety inspections, equipment maintenance, and supply usage.

聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Collaborates with faculty to develop and implement engaging, hands-on learning experiences that support course outcomes and foster student engagement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a Bachelor鈥檚 degree or equivalent experience in physics, engineering, technology, STEM education, industrial technology, or a related field.

聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience using hand tools, power tools, equipment maintenance, fabrication techniques, and safety practices.

聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience supporting hands-on STEM instruction, engineering design activities or educational laboratory environments preferred.

聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Adjunct or Tutoring experience preferred.
