The Learning Experience - Lake Linganore is hiring a caring, creative, and qualified Preschool Lead Teacher to join our growing early childhood education team!
As a Lead Teacher at our newly opened school, you'll have the opportunity to shape your classroom, create meaningful learning experiences, and help children develop the confidence, independence, and foundational skills they need to thrive.
We're looking for an educator who enjoys bringing learning to life through hands-on activities, building strong relationships with families, and creating a classroom where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
Candidates must meet Maryland's Preschool Teacher qualification requirements.
What You'll Do
- Lead daily activities and routines in a Preschool classroom
- Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum through engaging, age-appropriate lessons
- Encourage early literacy, math, science, language, and social-emotional development
- Create hands-on learning experiences through art, music, movement, and purposeful play
- Help children build independence, confidence, problem-solving skills, and positive friendships
- Maintain consistent classroom routines and use positive behavior guidance
- Observe developmental milestones and maintain required classroom documentation
- Mentor and collaborate with Assistant Teachers to create a supportive classroom environment
- Build strong relationships and communicate regularly with families
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming classroom
- Follow Maryland Office of Child Care licensing, health, and safety requirements
Qualifications
- Must meet Maryland Office of Child Care requirements for a qualified Preschool Teacher
- Previous professional preschool, daycare, childcare, or early childhood education experience preferred
- Previous experience leading a preschool classroom strongly preferred
- Early Childhood Education coursework, CDA, or related credentials are a plus
- Understanding of preschool development, classroom management, and positive guidance
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Patient, dependable, nurturing, and enthusiastic about early childhood education
- Must meet applicable Maryland childcare licensing requirements
