Veterinary Assistant - Surgery

Skylos Sports Medicine, a BluePearl Veterinary Partner, is an Orthopedic, Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine specialty practice which focuses on client-centered veterinary care. We are currently recruiting for a Veterinary Assistant to join our surgery team!

Schedule: This is a daytime position, working 4 10-hour shifts. No weekends or holidays!

Pay: $20 - $30 / hour

The vision for Skylos Sports Medicine was developed in 2015 by husband-and-wife Drs. Peter and Faith Lotsikas and is the realization of their united dream of providing personalized orthopedic and rehabilitation therapy for the canine companion. A BluePearl Surgery Assistant will be responsible for some post-operative client communication and must be able to work independently while contributing to a larger team goal.

As a Surgery Veterinary Assistant, you will: 

• Assist with patient evaluation and examination
• Obtain high-quality digital orthopedic radiographs
• Run routine lab work
• Administer medications and treatments
• Sterilize surgical instruments
• Exercise patients
• Clean kennels and ensure overall cleanliness of the hospital
• Provide client education and communication
