Our Spine & Pain team is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients experiencing acute and chronic pain.We are looking for a dependable, compassionate, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our Spine & Pain team in Fernandina Beach.Position SummaryThe Medical Assistant will work closely with our providers and clinical team to provide excellent patient care and support the daily operations of our Spine & Pain office. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced specialty environment.Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical histories Prepare patients for examinations and procedures Assist providers with patient visits and procedures Document patient information accurately in the EMR Review and update medications and patient histories Assist with injections and other clinical procedures as directed and within scope of practice Prepare, clean, and maintain examination and procedure rooms Maintain adequate clinical supplies and equipment Assist with patient flow and maintaining an efficient daily schedule Provide patient instructions and education as directed by the provider Assist with referrals, follow-up appointments, and other clinical needs Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients and families Work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and office policies Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assignedQualifications Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred Medical Assistant certification preferred Experience in pain management, orthopedics, spine, or another specialty practice is a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment Professional, dependable, and compassionate demeanor Ability to work effectively as part of a team Comfortable working with EMR systems and computers Knowledge of medical terminology Bilingual English/Spanish is a plusWhat We're Looking ForWe are looking for someone who: Takes pride in providing excellent patient care Is dependable and takes ownership of their responsibilities Works well with providers and teammates Can remain calm and professional in a busy environment Has strong attention to detail Demonstrates excellent patient-service skills Is willing to learn and grow within the practiceJoin the Coastal Health FamilyAt Coastal Health, our team is committed to providing compassionate care while creating a positive and supportive environment for our employees.
