Description

Summary:


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Breakfast Attendant to join our team at Silver Collection at Saxony. The Breakfast Attendant will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive breakfast experience for our guests by consistently following opening and closing procedures, maintaining food safety standards, and providing excellent customer service.


Responsibilities:


Opening:

  • Complete all food set-up 15 minutes before breakfast opening time.
  • Prepare oatmeal according to the specified recipe and transfer it to the holding unit, ensuring a continuous supply of hot oatmeal throughout breakfast hours.
  • Set up the waffle station and prepare waffle dough.
  • Arrange condiments, bowls, utensils, plates, napkins, and reset/check the coffee machine.
  • Ensure the juice machine is open and cups are available.
  • Set up the bagel display, toaster, and bagel slicer.
  • Ensure the availability of serving utensils for all buffet items.
  • Set up the cereal dispenser and follow the breakfast table diagram for accurate and consistent set-up.
  • Display the current specialty day sign prominently.
  • Be prepared to describe buffet items/menu to guests.


During Breakfast:

  • Welcome and assist guests as they enter the breakfast area.
  • Keep all breakfast items stocked and surfaces clean.
  • Dispose of garbage and offer to discard residents' garbage as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy breakfast area.


Receiving and Storing Products:

  • Receive products from approved suppliers in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy in the delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Store received products with a strong concern for temperature control, ensuring perishable items are stored at the correct temperature to maintain food safety.
  • Follow the FIFO rule when storing products to prevent spoilage and ensure that older items are used before newer ones.
  • Monitor and record product expiration dates, ensuring that expired items are removed from inventory promptly.
  • Report any issues with product quality or delivery discrepancies to the Manager.


Closing:

  • Ensure that breakfast service remains operational until the designated closing time.
  • Clean and stock the coffee machine, including checking levels, refilling coffee, rinsing if necessary, and emptying the coffee grind bin.
  • Clean and maintain the juice machine, including checking levels, wiping down the inside, and flushing the machine daily.
  • Clean and wipe down all equipment, utensils, countertops, tables, and chairs.
  • Restock all cereal compartments, clean plastic compartments on Fridays, and refill with fresh cereals.
  • Store all equipment and utensils in the kitchen.
  • Restock yogurt, milk, and all condiments in the refrigerator while following the FIFO rule.
  • Ensure all garbage is changed and properly disposed of.
  • Properly cover and label all products, checking expiration dates and ensuring proper rotation.
  • Maintain an adequate par stock for regular refills and report any inventory-related issues to the Manager.
  • Complete the Reorder/Inventory sheet and report any incidents or issues during the morning shift to the Manager.


Requirements

Requirements:

  • Food Safety Manager certification or the ability to obtain it within two weeks of hiring.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Customer service-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to follow opening and closing procedures accurately.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and handling.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and early morning shifts as required.
  • Prior experience in hospitality or in a similar role is a plus.
  • Assisting the Entertainment Director with 2 events a month.
