Love animals, take pride in a job done right, and want a part-time role that fits around the rest of your life?
Windermere Animal Hospital is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Part-Time Kennel Attendant to care for our boarding guests while their families are away. If you’re the kind of person who notices when a pup isn’t eating or a kitty seems off, and you take real satisfaction in a spotless kennel, we’d love to meet you.
As our Kennel Attendant, you’ll work every other weekend and on holidays, with short morning and evening shifts. Our boarders are the reason you’re here, so if there are no boarders on your weekend, you get that weekend off.
Why You’ll Love It Here
- A weekend-only, part-time schedule that can work around school, another job, or family
- Short shifts: mornings until noon and a quick one-hour evening visit
- No boarders on your weekend means no shift that weekend
- Holiday shifts are just three care visits a day, with no additional hospital cleaning
- A great, caring team that’s happy to teach you how to give medications and care for boarders with confidence
- Plenty of time with pets who’ll be thrilled to see you every morning
What You’ll Do
- Care for our boarding pets, including feeding, walking, and giving medications as directed
- Monitor boarders closely for changes in appetite, behavior, or signs of stress or distress, and report concerns to the team
- Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, and runs to keep our boarders comfortable and healthy
- Keep the hospital clean and sanitary, including vacuuming, mopping, and general facility cleaning
- Provide gentle, compassionate care that helps pets feel safe and settled while their families are away
- Follow care instructions carefully and keep accurate notes on feeding, medications, and walks
- Work independently and reliably during your shifts as a trusted member of the team
What You’ll Bring
- A love of animals and a desire to learn how to provide gentle, compassionate care for boarded pets
- Dependability. Our boarders and our team count on you to show up for every scheduled shift
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow feeding and medication instructions accurately
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
- The dexterity and confidence to give medications, or the willingness to learn
- The physical strength, mobility, and stamina to lift and move heavy pets and objects, and to stay on your feet while walking dogs and cleaning
- Availability every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday, 7:30 am–noon and 7–8 pm) and on holidays
- Previous kennel, pet care, or animal handling experience is a plus but not required
