SUMMARY:
o Coordinate and manage resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime during his/her shift

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Â
o Shift supervisor has authority to stop production to correct quality problemsÂ
o Shift Supervisor is responsible to correct quality problems when they arise, or stop production when these can’t be corrected immediatelyÂ
o Shift Supervisor is responsible to notify QC technicians of quality issues in a timely manner to so that possibly defective products can be containedÂ
o Shift supervisor is responsible for the supervision (quality/productivity/health) of the manufacturing processes while meeting customers’ requirements.
o Startup and stop molding machinesÂ
o Perform tooling, automation and material changeoversÂ
o Ensure that parting line cleanings and other TPM activities are done.Â
o Analyze defects and downtime causes and troubleshoot processes with problem solving methodsÂ
o Implement and document valid process changes, follow up to ensure that desired result is obtained.Â
o Monitor and analyze scrap rates and efficiency reportsÂ
o Maintain good molding practices including TPM, process control and limits, auto control, mold start up process, scrapÂ
o Communicate and enforce company policiesÂ
o Coordinate temporary laborÂ
o Propose and participate actively in continuous improvement activitiesÂ
o Promote performance improvement on the floorÂ
o Propose and schedule trainingÂ
o Supervise and mentor shift supervisorsÂ
o Ensure that quality, health/safety and other applicable procedures are appliedÂ
o Responsible for maintaining production area clean and organizedÂ
o Participate actively to management reviews, projects reviews, corrective actions
o Coordinate and supervise Production shift, communicate within the organization production priorities and challenges
o Does apply and ensure application of quality, environmental, health and safety standards
 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the direction, coordination and evaluation of the assigned department(s) and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws including OSHA regulations. Responsibilities include timekeeping, interviewing, hiring, and training associates, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining; addressing concerns and resolving issues.Â
WORKING CONDITIONS
Occasional Travel may be required.Â
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an injection molding manufacturing environment
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Desired:
- Two (2) years of trade school, or Associate Degree or higher

 CERTIFICATION/TRAINING
- Ongoing job specific training will be required throughout the duration of employment for necessary skills such as design controls training, quality and regulatory requirements and procedures, etc.
