About the Role:
Little Footprints Childcare Center in Matteson, IL is looking for a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our team! Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and curriculum aligned with early childhood development standards
- Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment for young children
- Supervise and guide assistant teachers and classroom aides
- Monitor and document individual child progress, milestones, and developmental goals
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding child development and classroom activities
- Maintain compliance with state licensing regulations and childcare center policies
- Facilitate social-emotional learning, play-based activities, and early literacy and numeracy skills
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or approved teaching certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
- Knowledge of DCFS licensing requirements and Illinois early learning standards
- Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine passion for child development
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and administrators
